Instructions

Step 1

Take about 1 m/3.3 ft long piece of jewelry wire and make the first “leaf” for the hair vine. The small beads are on the top (about 3-4) following by 6-7 bigger crystals. For that just fix the smallest bead on the top, each next crystal is about 0.5 cm / 0.2 inches away.

Step 2

Make 2 more leaves on sides, leaving about 1-1.5 cm/ 0.5 inches between the central one. The leaves may vary a bit from each other unless you are a perfectionist 🙂
I’d suggest making three of those leaves per piece, as it much easier to work with this length of wire, and faster to attach the leaves to the base.

Step 3

Now make lots of sets of leaves! For this particular piece I’ve made 7 sets of three and one extra single leaf to be put at the top. If you make 30 sets of leaves, you’ll end up with a gorgeous hair wreath (I know that, because I’ve already made it and will post on my Insta @indie.beads very soon! (if not already :))

Step 4

Make a base for your hair vine. You can do it with a thicker wire if you have one, or just take your regular work wire and fold it a couple of times (I folded it 5 times). Main thing is that you make the loops for the band on the sides!

Step 5

It’s time to put it all together and attach the leaves to the base. Depending on where you’d like to have your crystal part, leave that amount of space empty and start attaching you pieces. As shown on the picture, just pull it around. Make sure that you work in one direction, so it looks tidier.

Step 6

When you are adding new leaves to the base, fix them to each other by using that extra wire you have left on the sides. Just make sure that the leaves are fixed very well to the base. Then cut the remaining tails of wire and push the sharp end towards the base, so it won’t hurt when accidentally touched.

Step 7

Attach that one last leaf to the top and in the middle of the crystal part, and the pull the remaining wire all around these crystal leaves, so it looks tidier and is for sure fixed to the base.

Step 8

Take a pretty band, pull through the hoops, take a picture of your beautiful hair vine, style your hair nicely, become a princess, and magic is done!

Final thoughts

I hope pictures will explain the steps better then the words (texts are my weakness), but of course if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch! I’ll do my best to answer them all. And it really is easier than it looks! I’m sure anyone will be able to make their own wedding hair vine. 😊❤️
